Purchase Options & Cancellation Policy

At Defence Bakery, we strive to prepare and deliver every order with the highest quality and freshness. By placing an order on our website, you agree to the following Purchase Options & Cancellation Policy.

1. Regular Orders

Order Confirmation

An order is considered confirmed only after successful payment (where applicable) and receipt of an order confirmation from Defence Bakery.

Order confirmation acknowledges that we have received your order request. It does not constitute acceptance of the order for fulfilment.

Order Acceptance

All orders are subject to:

  • Product availability.

  • Availability of ingredients and raw materials.

  • Operational and production capacity.

  • Serviceability of the delivery location.

  • Successful payment verification.

  • Compliance with our internal quality standards.

Defence Bakery reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order before dispatch or fulfilment if:

  • The ordered product becomes unavailable.

  • We are unable to maintain our quality standards.

  • Incorrect pricing or technical errors occur on the website.

  • The delivery location falls outside our service area.

  • Fraudulent, suspicious, or unauthorized transactions are identified.

  • Unforeseen operational or logistical circumstances prevent fulfilment.

Where possible, we will contact the customer before cancelling the order.

If an order is cancelled by Defence Bakery before fulfilment, any amount paid for the cancelled item(s) will be refunded to the original payment method in accordance with applicable payment processing timelines.


2. Customer Cancellation – Regular Orders

Customers may request cancellation of a regular order only if:

  • The order has not entered preparation or production.

  • The order has not been dispatched to the delivery partner.

Once preparation of food products has begun or the order has been dispatched, cancellation requests may not be accepted due to the perishable and made-to-order nature of bakery products.


3. Pre-Orders

What is a Pre-Order?

A Pre-Order allows customers to reserve products that are:

  • Not currently available in inventory;

  • Made specially for a future delivery date;

  • Seasonal, limited-edition, or produced on demand.

Defence Bakery may collect full payment, partial payment, or authorize your payment method at the time of placing a Pre-Order.

Availability of Pre-Orders

A Pre-Order does not guarantee product availability or delivery.

All Pre-Orders remain subject to:

  • Availability of ingredients and raw materials.

  • Production capacity.

  • Quality checks.

  • Operational and logistical feasibility.

  • Unforeseen circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

While Defence Bakery makes every reasonable effort to fulfil all confirmed Pre-Orders, we cannot guarantee availability in every circumstance.


4. Cancellation of Pre-Orders by Defence Bakery

If we are unable to fulfil a Pre-Order due to genuine operational reasons, product unavailability, supply shortages, production limitations, quality concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances, Defence Bakery reserves the right to cancel the order, in whole or in part.

In such cases, we will:

  • Inform the customer using the registered contact details.

  • Where feasible, offer an alternative product or revised fulfilment date.

  • If no suitable alternative is accepted, process a full refund for the cancelled portion of the order through the original payment method.

A Pre-Order represents a reservation request and does not constitute a guarantee of delivery or product availability.


5. Customer Cancellation – Pre-Orders

Customers may cancel a Pre-Order provided that:

  • The order has not entered production.

  • The order has not been prepared or dispatched.

Once production has commenced or the order has been fulfilled, cancellation requests may not be accepted.

Refund eligibility will be determined in accordance with this policy and our Returns & Refund Policy.


6. Refund Policy

Where Defence Bakery cancels an order, customers will receive a refund of the amount paid for the cancelled item(s).

Refunds will be initiated to the original payment method. The time taken for the refund to reflect in the customer's account depends on the payment gateway, banking partner, or card issuer.


7. Delivery Commitment

Defence Bakery will make every reasonable effort to deliver orders within the selected delivery window.

However, delivery times are estimates only and may be affected by factors including but not limited to:

  • Weather conditions.

  • Traffic disruptions.

  • Public holidays.

  • Government restrictions.

  • Delivery partner delays.

  • Operational or technical issues.

  • Force majeure events.

Reasonable delays shall not constitute a breach of contract.


8. Right to Refuse or Cancel Orders

Defence Bakery reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order before fulfilment if necessary to protect product quality, customer safety, operational integrity, or to comply with applicable laws.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Product or ingredient unavailability.

  • Pricing or technical errors.

  • Payment verification failure.

  • Suspected fraudulent activity.

  • Delivery outside our serviceable area.

  • Force majeure events.

  • Any other genuine circumstance that prevents successful fulfilment.

Where applicable, customers will be informed promptly, and any eligible refund will be processed.


9. Limitation

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights available to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, or any other applicable law in India.
